Analog Devices has made great strides in making resources available so the tools can be downloaded and built by users. Here is a number of typical commands used to download, unpack, and install the tools. Under some distributions of Linux double clicking an RPM file will bring up a GFE for installing RPM’s. Under SuSE Linux 9.0 the front-end is provided through YaST2. After installing the Blackfin toolchain, the environment variable PATH must be modified to include the directory where the tool chain is installed, by entering the following command before using it.
