One simple and accurate way to acquire the reference junction temperature is through the use of an AD592 integrated temperature sensor. The AD592 is a 2-terminal current-output temperature sensor in a TO-92 package, making it relatively easy to thermally attach to a terminal block or thermocouple connector. Feeding its output current through a resistor, the voltage can be measured directly using the ADuC7060’s auxiliary ADC to determine the reference junction temperature.
