Translate an Idea Into Arduino Code

Follow along as I share my workflow for turning an idea into an Arduino sketch for a functional prototype. This process helps add structure to an amorphous task, especially for beginners.

For this circuit, I used the following supplies:

• Arduino Uno
• USB cable
• Membrane keypad
• Aphanumeric display
• 3x 10mm LEDs (green, yellow, red)
• 3x 220 ohm resistors
• Solderless breadboard
• Prototyping wires
• Proto shield
• Computer running Arduino software
• Multimeter
• Eye protection
• Soldering iron and solder
• Wire strippers
• Flush cutters
• Helping third hand tool
