Ambient Light Sensors

Vishay's ambient light sensors are used to detect light or brightness in a manner similar to the human eye. These sensors are most commonly found in industrial lighting, consumer electronics, and automotive systems where they allow device settings to be adjusted automatically in response to changing ambient light conditions.

Available as phototransistors and photodiodes, Vishay’s portfolio of ambient light sensors is one of the broadest on the market. The sensors are available in seven different packages, including leaded, surface mount, and hermetically sealed types. Five sensors are qualified to automotive AEC-Q101 standard and, four feature Vishay’s exclusive F-filter, which further improves sensor performance.
