Silanna Plural platform analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) are high-speed, low-power data converters designed for signal-chain and test and measurement applications across industrial, medical, and communications markets. The 12-, 14-, and 16-bit platform families integrate a pipeline ADC core, on-chip reference, and clock management circuitry to simplify design and reduce external component count.
The converters support sampling rates from 5 MSPS to 250 MSPS, providing a scalable platform for system architects who need performance and flexibility without redesigning their front end. The architecture delivers excellent SNR and SFDR.
The ADC portfolio also includes a class of feature-rich variants that integrate on-chip DSP functionality within the converter signal path. These DSP blocks provide decimation, digital down-conversion (DDC), and IQ-mismatch correction, functions traditionally handled by FPGA logic. Many system designers who previously routed ADC output data to an FPGA for digital filtering now exploit the integrated DSP to reallocate the resources of the FPGA to alternate tasks that can enhance platform performance and reduce costs.
This integration eliminates redundant external processing. The selectable decimation and DDC modes of the architecture optimize output bandwidth, while IQ-mismatch correction improves image rejection and minimizes system calibration overhead. Designers benefit from using their current FPGA footprint to do alternative processing and filtering that can enable them to increase platform capabilities and provide more value to their customers.
