Fitness Tracker/Wearable Solution
Microchip's solution can be used for healthcare and wearable products such as heart rate measurement data
Microchip's fitness tracker/wearable solution consists of a 32-bit microcontroller (MCU) that can create a variety of products for the healthcare and wearable markets. There are many types of fitness or activity trackers available that can monitor heart rate, sleep patterns, or performance in a variety of sports activities.
This fitness tracker demo displays heart rate readings measured in beats per minute (bpm) on a low-power e-ink display and can optionally post the data to the Microchip Bluetooth® data mobile application for Android™ via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) (SAM E51-based demo only).
The host SAM D21 or SAM E51 MCU communicates with a MikroElektronika Heart Rate 9 click board over the I2C interface and with a MikroElektronika e-ink click over the SPI interface. The Heart Rate 9 click board provides accurate heart rate readings when users place an index finger on top of the sensor. The eINK click plus the e-paper low-power display shows the heart rate and retains the data even after the device is disconnected from a power source. The BM71 Bluetooth module can send the heart rate data over BLE (SAM E51-based demo only).
